Protein Packed Moong Dal Appe

Start your day with healthy yet wholesome food which means a balanced and fulfilling meal. Moong dal appe are loaded with protein from the dal, fibre from the veggies and taste super yum. Easiest option for kid’s tiffin box.

INGREDIENTS-

  • Yellow Moong dal (1 cup soaked)
  • 1 small onion
  • ¼ carrot
  • 4-5 leaves Spinach
  • Coriander leaves
  • Ginger (1 inch)
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp Mustard seeds
  • 7-8 curry leaves
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp red chilli powder/ green chilli-1

PROCEDURE-

  1. Grind moong dal, ginger, spinach, green chilli, coriander leaves and ½ cup of water. Ground in a smooth paste.
  2. Now transfer the mixture into a bowl.
  3. Heat the pan, add 1tsp of oil, add mustard seeds, sesame seeds, curry leaves, and turmeric powder.
  4. Add the tadka in the batter, add salt and mix well. Add chopped onions and grated carrot.
  5. Next grease an appe pan with oil, add batter and fill each compartment.
  6. Cover and cook for 3-4 mins or till crisp from the bottom.
  7. Flip them after some time and enjoy with mint chutney.
